Laurence Wald - Director
Laurence Wald has spent his career working with closely held family businesses. He joined GSP in November 2014 bringing his clients to the firm. Many of the roots of the clients starting working with Larry’s grandfather who had his own accounting firm. Relationship continuity is the essence of what Larry brings to GSP. Larry brings to the firm increased capability in taxation of closely held business, and expertise in estate and trusts.
Treating clients as part of the family and providing extremely personal services has granted Larry the privilege of being appointed as trustee and executor for estates of many clients as well as trustee of trusts for clients children and grandchildren. This level of trust conveyed by clients illustrate the level of experience and professionalism Larry brings to GSP. Being able to provide these trustee services to clients is invaluable to many families.
In addition to his professional life, Larry is the current Long Island Chapter President of JDRF. He has served in that position from 2011 to today and previous also served in that capacity from 2005 to 2007. In this role Larry is tasked with driving the local fundraising efforts to reach the yearly goal of $2,500,000. Proudly he has accomplished this endeavor year over year. In addition he serves on various national committees and working groups for JDRF. JDRF is the leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. JDRF’s goal is to progressively remove the impact of T1D from people’s lives until it achieves a world without T1D. JDRF collaborates with a wide spectrum of partners and is the only organization with the scientific resources, regulatory influence, and a working plan to better treat, prevent, and eventually cure T1D. As the largest charitable supporter of T1D research, JDRF is currently sponsoring over $560 million in scientific research in 17 countries.
